Dyson Air Purifier TP00

A normal fan that serves its function well would cost on average $50. Since young, I’ve always noticed the round bladeless fans being displayed proudly at departmental stores. Mama told me that these fans were way out of our budget back then and that a fan of a lower value would play its role equally well. 

Wanting to give my family a better quality of life in small little ways, I purchased 2 Dyson Air Purifier TP00 at SGD878 from Lazada’s 8.8 flash sales (The small aunty in me usually am willing to wait for the right time and opportunity to purchase material goods at a better rate). The usual price of 1 of this air purifiers would be SGD549 if not for the sale. The TP00 supposedly acts as a fan as well and its dual purpose is ideal for those who wants a multiple function appliance. 

Delivery was prompt and two days later, I was happily unboxing the Dyson Air Purifier. Fixing it up was easy and self-explanatory. The purifier uses a 360 degree glass HEPA filter which is said to capture ultrafine particles from all directions including pollen, bacteria and pet dander (especially useful for me since I am allergic to pollen grains of palm trees and I have a dog). People who have certain allergies might find this useful. 

I placed 1 TP00 in my parents’ room and 1 in my own room. I would presume its effects would be more apparent in smaller areas of space given its size. 

In a nutshell, these are advantages of having the TP00:

• It is child friendly since it is bladeless
• There is no need to worry about dust accumulating on the blades
• Filter function is really not bad.. but only for a small room
• Remote control that comes along with it adds convenience to users

The disadvantages however are:

• Weak strength of the wind for lower fan speeds
• Higher fan speeds come with noise

All in all, I would think that the TP00 serves its primary purpose as an air purifier but sucks in its secondary purpose as a fan. I would advise people to consider getting an air purifier of a different brand and a legit fan instead of the TP00. The total cost would be probably half the price of the TP00. Of course, this review is only specifically about TP00, which is the entry level fan among the entire range of fans available. Hence, other fans from Dyson might still be able to generate stronger winds.
